For my exquisite corpse, my inspiration is the scoring done in animated disney shorts. Most, if not all, animated disney shorts have no dialogue, and yet in all of them you could close your eyes and feel the same emotions of the characters as if your eyes were open. I want to be able to convey the feelings these shorts do through only sound, with no visual aid. My goal is to tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end, and convey the feelings of action, panic, eerie quietness, and romance. As I started to learn Adobe Audition, I found that the effects and presets I was most drawn too manipulated the sounds I was using in kind of a scary, horror-inspired way. I decided that would be the most interesting direction to go in. I am not a fan of horror and get scared extremely easily, so creating a horror, disney-inspired soundtrack was more tame way for me to lean into the scary genre.
